Feng shui helps connect Earth and Heaven

“The ancient Chinese mind contemplates the cosmos in a way comparable to that of a modern physicist, who cannot

deny that his model of the world is a decidedly psychophysical structure.”

- Carl Jung, foreword to The I Ching or Book of Changes

Feng Shui is an ancient energy system. As with any spiritual or religious modality, it can easily bring about superstitious thoughts. My advice would be to follow your intuition, and be aware of the things that you can and cannot control. Your positive intentions are FAR more important than any methodology that advises black and white or good and bad thinking. It is however, very beautiful to see that variations of the practices in this book have been used in many cultures - such as Chinese and Indian as well as ancient shamanistic practices - for centuries. Since ancient times, China has believed in harmonizing with and not disrupting nature. The geography made it exceptionally important to adapt so that winds and floods would not damage their homes or crops.

It goes without saying, that a messy home or desk signifies a lack of organization or mental overwhelm that someone is experiencing. If the spaces around us are of a high vibration, that in turn helps us vibrate higher and bring about positive outcomes. How beautiful is it that we can harness this knowledge to co-create our life with God/ Universe/Source?!

Keep in mind that this applies to the energy of the restaurants and stores you go to - and even your car! We are constantly being affected by the environments that we are in...our home is primarily what we have the most control over. But please also pay attention to your phone! Clutter with too many apps or open web pages can drain your energy. Using your lock screen and wallpaper as a manifestation board is so powerful because of how often you will see those reminders throughout the day. Be specific with your desires + have a firm belief in their inevitability - and be amazed at how the universe conspires in your favor!

Yin and Yang are complimentary opposites. It is understood that you cannot have light without dark, life without death, night follows day and winter gives way to spring.

Yang: Masculine energy / energy of the Sun / bright colors, well-lit, energetic. Open, lively spaces. Signifies human energy + life force. Too much of this energy can lead to anxiety, restlessness and anger.

  • Shiny + reflective surfaces such as glass, stainless steel, marble and stone...as well as hard window treatments such as shutters and blinds.

Yin: Feminine energy / energy of the Moon / darker or muted and pastel colors. Relaxed, closed and quiet spaces. Signifies the spirit world and ghost energy. Too much of this energy can lead to lack of motivation, flightiness and depression.

  • Matte or textured surfaces such as natural wood, rugs + carpets, soft fabrics and draperies.

The Bagua Map

This energy map can help you navigate and harness the flow of energy. (Gua - translates to direction & this map represents the 9 key areas of life and is based on the trigrams in the I Ching). It can be used on the floorpan of your entire home, the layout of each room, tops of tables and desks, and even your vision board!
